This media blog features many of the important events in the life of our parish community since we began worshiping in the Campbell Middle School gym back in 2009 .



Pastoral Visit by Bishop Whitmore


In 2010 we  began worshiping in our our present worship space

 in our new church building




As a result of the pandemic we could no longer gather together for worship in our church as well as in person meetings.





To maintain our own spiritual journey and our sense of our parish community we began meeting and some smaller worship services using  Zoom  





For the Sunday morning  worship services, we found ways to maintain the quality  of our worship using our virtual choir, meeting each Thursday creating streaming videos using Lay Readers, Clergy, preaching their sermons together creating our Sunday morning services

Outdoor Worship Services



Last fall, there was a part of our  Parish community that wished to worshipping in person. So we began holding a service of  Morning Prayer each Sunday Morning in our parking lot.

In January after Mother Jenna joined us as our new Rector, she began holding a  Weekly Sunday afternoon Eucharist at 2:00 pm.

Path To Shine® is a mentoring and tutoring program for elementary-school children in North and Middle Georgia. Our purpose is to provide  academic and social support to encourage children to thrive in school and build self-confidence to their dreams. PTS's success stems from our principles to maintain a ratio of no more than one Mentor to two students, to have a flexible structure that adapts to each local community, and to consistently seek collaboration with other organizations.

St. Benedict, in full Saint Benedict of Nursia, Nursia also spelled Norcia, (born c. 480 CE, Nursia [Italy]—died c. 547, Monte Cassino; feast day July 11, formerly March 21), founder of the Benedictine monastery at Monte Cassino and father of Western monasticism; the Rule that he established became the norm for monastic living throughout Europe.

New Ministries - Brian Sullivan, New Rector

All Hallow's Eve was the date for the Celebration of New Ministry for the Rev. Brian Sullivan as he became the first Rector o St. Benedict's, Smyrna with Bishop Neal Alexander celebrating and preaching at the service. And what did the congregation do for him after the service? Well they had a great BBQ dinner followed by a Trunk or Treat for the children and parents of the parish. All this should bode well for his ministry at St. Benedict's.
